Prince William County's Ricky Lowe, 32, was a passenger in the crash of a stolen car on I-66 and was being treated at Fairfax Hospital when he walked out with an IV in arm, jumped in a private transport ambulance and stole it, Fairfax County police said.
While the vehicle was recovered, officers were on the 4200 block of Annandale Road in Annandale looking for Lowe, who is wanted for grand larceny, police said.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday, officers in Prince William County potentially spotted Lowe, police say, leading to an extensive search with a Fairfax County police helicopter, though he was not found.
Firearms and drugs were seized from the vehicle that originally crashed.
Lowe is Black weighing nearly 300 pounds and has a shaved head and tattoos on his arms. Anyone who sees him should call 9-1-1.
